  • The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will invest an estimated €1.5 billion in the development of a 58 km highway sector between Comarnic (Prahova County) and Brasov. The project is set to be completed in 2014.
  • American auto manufacturer Ford will invest €400 million in the technical rehabilitation and modernisation of its units, and in developing new facilities at the platform in Craiova, Dolj County.
  • French auto manufacturer Renault will finalize a €166 million investment in the development of a new centre in Titu, Dambovita County.
  • French utility company GDF Suez, in partnership with state-owned salt producer and distributor Salrom, will invest €100 million in the development of a natural gas storage facility within a salt mine in Ocna Mures, Alba County.
  • The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will invest an estimated €67 million in the development of road and railway infrastructure access to Danube bridge between Calafat (Dolj County) to Vidin (Bulgaria).
  • State-owned railway transport company CFR Calatori will invest €42 million in repairs and maintenance for 3,459 railway cars.
  • Romanian meat producer and distributor Unicarm invested €30 million in the development of four factories (including bakery, dairy and ice cream facilities) in Vetis, Satu Mare County.
  • German private medical service operator Centrul Medical Unirea will invest €33 million in the development of two specialty hospitals in Bucharest (of €8 million and €25 million investments).
  • The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure invested €25.8 million in the development of a departure terminal at Cluj-Napoca International Airport, Cluj County.
    Romanian subway company Metrorex will invest an estimated €16 million in modernising 79 of the 100 escalators in Bucharest subway stations. The project is set to be completed by July 2011.
  • Indian constructive steel producer Arcelor Mittal Construction invested an estimated €15 million in an environmental project to reduce dust emissions by 95%.
  • Romanian gas transportation company Transgaz Medias will invest €9 million in the development of 90 km of gas pipeline connecting Iasi and Vaslui Counties.
  • Romanian hospital group Euromaterna invested €7 million in the development of an obstetrics and gynaecological hospital in Constanta.
  • Romanian-Turkish foundation "Lumina Institutii de Invatamant" will invest €6 million in the development of a private university in central Bucharest. The project is set to be completed by October 2010.
  • State-owned optical equipment producer IOR Bucuresti will invest €2.9 million in modernising production capacities.
  • Romanian car dealer Radacini will invest €2.5 million in the development of a showroom in Constanta.
  • German private medical service operator Centrul Medical Unirea, in partnership with Greek hospital group Hygeia, invested €2 million in the development of a stem cell collection unit in Bucharest.
  • French construction materials producer Lafarge invested €1.6 million in the development of a warehouse in Oltenita, Calarasi County.
  • Italian leather processing company Romipel invested an estimated €1.4 million in the acquisition of another 37.65% of the leather processing company Pim Sibiu, making it shareholder of 95% in total.

Real Estate

  • Romanian real estate developer Advanced Development, in partnership with Israeli and Austrian investment funds New Horizon and Immoeast, will invest €100 million in the development of a 1,000 apartment residential project in northeastern Bucharest.
    Belgian real estate developer Sunset Properties will invest €70 million in the development of a commercial centre in Galati.
  • Romanian businessperson Viorel Gheorghiu will invest €35 million in the development of two projects: a four-star hotel and an office building in Bucharest.
  • Romanian real estate developer Decons Co. will invest €10 million in the development of one four-star and one five-star hotel in northern Bucharest.
  • Romanian real estate developer Impact Developer & Contractor will invest €7 million in the development of an 80 apartment residential project in northern Bucharest.
