• The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will invest an estimated €1.5 billion in the development of a 58 km highway sector between Comarnic (Prahova County) and Brasov. The project is set to be completed in 2014.
• American auto manufacturer Ford will invest €400 million in the technical rehabilitation and modernisation of its units, and in developing new facilities at the platform in Craiova, Dolj County.
• French auto manufacturer Renault will finalize a €166 million investment in the development of a new centre in Titu, Dambovita County.
• French utility company GDF Suez, in partnership with state-owned salt producer and distributor Salrom, will invest €100 million in the development of a natural gas storage facility within a salt mine in Ocna Mures, Alba County.
• The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure will invest an estimated €67 million in the development of road and railway infrastructure access to Danube bridge between Calafat (Dolj County) to Vidin (Bulgaria).
• State-owned railway transport company CFR Calatori will invest €42 million in repairs and maintenance for 3,459 railway cars.
• Romanian meat producer and distributor Unicarm invested €30 million in the development of four factories (including bakery, dairy and ice cream facilities) in Vetis, Satu Mare County.
• German private medical service operator Centrul Medical Unirea will invest €33 million in the development of two specialty hospitals in Bucharest (of €8 million and €25 million investments).
• The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure invested €25.8 million in the development of a departure terminal at Cluj-Napoca International Airport, Cluj County.
  Romanian subway company Metrorex will invest an estimated €16 million in modernising 79 of the 100 escalators in Bucharest subway stations. The project is set to be completed by July 2011.
• Indian constructive steel producer Arcelor Mittal Construction invested an estimated €15 million in an environmental project to reduce dust emissions by 95%.
• Romanian gas transportation company Transgaz Medias will invest €9 million in the development of 90 km of gas pipeline connecting Iasi and Vaslui Counties.
• Romanian hospital group Euromaterna invested €7 million in the development of an obstetrics and gynaecological hospital in Constanta.
• Romanian-Turkish foundation "Lumina Institutii de Invatamant" will invest €6 million in the development of a private university in central Bucharest. The project is set to be completed by October 2010.
• State-owned optical equipment producer IOR Bucuresti will invest €2.9 million in modernising production capacities.
• Romanian car dealer Radacini will invest €2.5 million in the development of a showroom in Constanta.
• German private medical service operator Centrul Medical Unirea, in partnership with Greek hospital group Hygeia, invested €2 million in the development of a stem cell collection unit in Bucharest.
• French construction materials producer Lafarge invested €1.6 million in the development of a warehouse in Oltenita, Calarasi County.
• Italian leather processing company Romipel invested an estimated €1.4 million in the acquisition of another 37.65% of the leather processing company Pim Sibiu, making it shareholder of 95% in total.

• Romanian real estate developer Advanced Development, in partnership with Israeli and Austrian investment funds New Horizon and Immoeast, will invest €100 million in the development of a 1,000 apartment residential project in northeastern Bucharest.
  Belgian real estate developer Sunset Properties will invest €70 million in the development of a commercial centre in Galati.
• Romanian businessperson Viorel Gheorghiu will invest €35 million in the development of two projects: a four-star hotel and an office building in Bucharest.
• Romanian real estate developer Decons Co. will invest €10 million in the development of one four-star and one five-star hotel in northern Bucharest.
• Romanian real estate developer Impact Developer & Contractor will invest €7 million in the development of an 80 apartment residential project in northern Bucharest.

• Romanian oil company Petrom will invest €500 million in the development of an 86 MW electrical energy power plant in Petrobrazi, Prahova County.
• American mobile electronics and transportation systems manufacturer Delphi Diesel Systems invested €100 million in the development of a 16 ha factory in Miroslava, Iasi County.
• Slovenia’s Port Koper, in partnership with four logistics companies (Luka Koper, Trans Logistics, Bilk and Kombi Terminal) will invest €15 million in the development of a railway terminal for container transport in Curtici, Arad County.
• German retailer Praktiker invested €11.1 million in opening in its 26th Romanian unit in Focsani, Vrancea County.
• Greek bakery and confectionary products manufacturer and distributor Karamolegos Bakery invested €10 million in the development of a production complex in Popesti-Leordeni, Ilfov County.
• Romanian medical centre Elim will invest an estimated €3 million in 2009 in the development of three medical clinics in Bucharest and in Arges and Olt counties.
  Romanian lead producer Romplumb will invest an estimated €2.8 million in 2009 in the improvement of its working environment, in the development of ecologic projects, and in equipment repairs.
• Hungarian telecommunications service provider Euroweb will invest €2 million in 2009 in the development of access solutions and infrastructure projects.
  Greek restaurant chain Epitome invested €1 million in the development of a 1,200 m² luxury restaurant in central Bucharest.
  

Real Estate

• Israeli real estate developer Israel Land Development Company will invest €243 million in the development of a 1,476 unit residential project in northeastern Bucharest (€170 million investment; €1,200-1,300 per m²) and two commercial centres in Ploiesti, Prahova
• County (€55 million investment; 35,000 m² rentable surface, 70% already pre-rented) and Giurgiu (€18 million investment; 20,000 m² rentable space).
• Austrian investment fund Immoeast bought Eyemaxx's interest of 50% in two logistic projects in Ploiesti, Prahova county and Timisoara, Timis county, for an amount estimated at some €10-15 million. Immoeast now owns 100% of the two logistic projects.

• State-owned railway transport company CFR SA will invest €256 million in the development of infrastructure projects.
• The Ministry of Transportation will invest €170 million in the development of three maritime and river infrastructure projects: the 1.05 km expansion of Constanta harbour’s northern mole, the development of a bridge over the Dunare-Marea Neagra channel, and an increase of the harbour's railway capacity.
• Brasov County will invest an estimated €100 million in the development of an airport near the city of Brasov.
• The Romanian Authority for Nuclear Activity will invest €46 million over the next six years in the development of environmental projects at its Romag-Termo power plant in Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti County.
• The Ministry of Transportation will invest €39 million in the development of a project aiming to improve sailing conditions on the Danube, between Calarasi and Braila.
• State-owned electricity transmission and system operations company Transelectrica will invest €27.4 million in the development of a conversion plant in Mintia, Hunedoara County.
• Romanian do-it-yourself chain Dedeman will invest €25 million in expanding its local network by four units in Bucharest, Iasi and Buzau.

• American fast-food chain McDonald’s invested over €9 million in the development of three units in western Bucharest (€4 million investment), which is already open for business, in Sibiu (€2.5 million investment), and in Piatra-Neamt, Neamt County (€2.5 million investment).
• The Ministry of Labour will invest an estimated €5 million over the next two years to restructure several orphanages with new housing projects for the children.
• Romanian household appliances and IT&C retailer Flamingo International will invest over €2 million in 2009 in the redevelopment of its stores.
